Why is it that I’m always, without a doubt, floored when the end of every December rolls around?

Mentally, it still feels like it’s the start of 2024. Literally, the year has come and gone and we’re in full prep mode for 2025.

But here’s the thing.

For the first time in a long time, I’m not sure what next year is going to hold. You see, I’m a planner. Hardcore, month-by-month planner of my future, but as I go into 2025 it’s feeling very open-ended.

I have an idea of some trips we’re going to take and some steps we’re hoping to take for our future family, but aside from that the year is pretty wide open and unexpected. In fact, it’s full of possibility. I’m not one to choose a word for the year but maybe it’s time I do.

Possibility.

Maybe you’re feeling similar about 2025 or maybe you’re full of anxiety about what’s ahead because of your job, your finances, or health.

My prayer for 2025 is that you will walk into the year with your heart and mind open to whatever it is that God has in store for you. No amount of planning will make every single thing on your list go as you wish. Some things may go as you want, yes! But ultimately some things in 2025 won’t go as expected. Loss may come, heartbreak, or the end of happy chapters. But don’t lose hope. God is and always will be good, no matter the circumstances around us.

Hand 2025 over to God and lean on Him to make this next year a great one, opening up yourself to all the possibilities He has in store for you.

Remember, “do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own” (Matthew 6:34).

Here’s to all that 2024 held and all that 2025 will hold. Until next week, friends!
