You GUYS. I did it.

After months of putting it off, I finally finished The Bullet That Missed (Thursday Murder Club #3). I’d like to very quickly thank my incredible neighbor Celeste for lending me her copy that I, please forgive me again, held onto for months. I am eternally grateful for you.

The Bullet That Missed

The Bullet That Missed by Richard Osman is the third book in the Thursday Murder Club series and though I enjoyed it, it wasn’t my favorite of the three I’ve read. If I’m honest, the first one will forever have a special place in my heart, but I did enjoy the new character additions and the various twists. Will the series make for good television when it comes to Netflix later this year? Absolutely. Did I imagine Pierce Brosnan every time Ron was mentioned? Abso-freaking-lutely.

Did I read anything else in March?

Absolutely not. It was a wild but great month where I started a new job, began foster parenting classes, and focused on settling into a new routine (and sleeping). But don’t worry, I’m not leaving you hanging. Instead, I thought I would share about one of my favorite series from before I started our Unofficial Book Club last August.

The Murphy Shepherd Series

Have you heard of the book (or movie) The Mountain Between Us? Then you’ve probably heard of Charles Martin, the author of that book and the Murphy Shepherd Series.

How can I best describe this series? A little bit of Mission: Impossible, raw, and suspense-filled as Murphy Shepherd works tirelessly to save people from human trafficking. As the Goodreads summary describes it, the series is a beautifully intense reminder that “the needs of the one outweigh those of the ninety-nine.”

His newest book in the series, The Keeper, was just released this week and I am patiently waiting to get started on it. You know the books you have a hard time putting down no matter what you have to do? That’s what this series is for me. Add it to your list!

Next up on the reading list?

Alright, here’s my Libby lineup as it currently stands by wait time for books…

Now that I’ve got a better hang of my new schedule I’m excited to get back into reading, especially with the list above. May they take me to new (or old) worlds and lead me to other great reads.

Until next week,
