One of my favorite weeks of the year took place last month: our annual honeymoon trip.
And though I’ve been reading less these days, I was able to check two books off the list during our getaway: Vera Wong’s Guide To Snooping (On A Dead Man) by Jesse Q. Sutanto and Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Mass (Throne of Glass series).

I’ll cut to the chase quickly. They were both good reads! Not super memorable, though Heir of Fire was significantly better than Crown of Midnight.
And though I tried to finish off two more books in May, I quickly failed because, well, life keeps happening! I’m currently reading both Habits of the Household: Practicing the Story of God in Everyday Family Rhythms by Justin Whitmel Earley and Maame by Jessica George. Currently, but in all honesty, slowly making my way through these two books. And though it’s an audiobook, I’m also listening to Stuck Up and Stupid by Angourie Rice and Kate Rice. Rumor has it the book is a modern twist on Pride and Prejudice so I’m here for it!

Need some summer reads?
Maybe you’re headed on a vacation soon, or maybe you need some light reads for the summer, so I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you.
- People We Meet on Vacation was my first introduction to Emily Henry, and I’ve been hooked since. This is a great vacation read, followed by just about anything else she’s written.
- The Summer I Turned Pretty Trilogy by Jenny Han is such a great, easy read. If you’ve seen the show on Amazon Prime and you haven’t read the books, you’re missing out. The show is nowhere as good as the books and the storylines have changed with the additions of new characters. Trust me on this one: the book is better than the series.
- And finally, Crazy Rich Asians by Kevin Kwan. Again, there’s a movie out there for this book, but the book is significantly better (in fact, the whole series is worth the read). And with the pool (or beach) by your side, you’ll be so entertained you’ll get through the series in one trip.

Okay, friends.
The reality of this month’s Unofficial Book Club is that life is busy, but I’m hopeful I’ll have more reads to share with you next month!
Until Friday,
